Do car seats expire???

I'm throwing this question out there and I want you to answer it without doing any research. Just give your answer and why you answered yes or no. I have done research on this subject and I will post what I found after I see what everyone else has to say. I'm just curious to see what everyone thinks about this subject. Have a nice day!!!

Cartwheel Connor

Okay...I taught gymnastics in my college days and I had 6 year old kids that could not do cartwheels as well as my 3 year old. He can't land on his feet every time but I'm just shocked he has the hand hand, foot foot concept. I was so surprised one day when he said "daddy, mommy watch this". I could not believe it...finally this kid got something from me. I was so happy!!!!!! I'll have to get video of this kid doing his cartwheels!!!!! You have to see it to believe it.

My Boys

Connor went for his 3 year old check-up and Colby went for his 4 month check-up. They were both doing great. Both of them are off the charts in height and head circumference (yes my kids have big heads). Colby still weighed 17 lbs and Connor was 34lbs. I forgot to blog about it b/c they did the appt. so late in July that I didn't think about my monthly update. Connor had to get his finger pricked and pee in a cup. I thought I was gonna get pee all over my hands b/c I had to hold the cup but my big boy did a great job!!!! I was pee free!!!!!!! Colby was 5 months old Aug. 13th and he is doing so many new things.

  • He has 2 bottom teeth

  • frowns when he is not happy (above picture is proof)

  • sleeps through the night (except at Nana's house)

  • can roll over

  • pulls himself up while holding your fingers

  • laughs at his brother when he is turning cartwheels and other tricks around the house

  • smiles at you when he wakes up in the mornings

  • loves his Bumbo

  • just started eating rice cereal (unlike Connor-he started at 2 months old)

He is growing up so fast and I just wish I could stop time. These two boys keep me on my toes and I'm loving every minute of it.

Shawn Johnson = Powerhouse

Have you seen this kid????!!!! She is GREAT!!!! I think I fell in love with her style of gymnastics because she reminds me so much of Mary Lou Retton. When I was younger I wanted to be Mary Lou, what gymnast didn't want to be her? I have been waiting for this powerhouse to win a gold medal this whole time and she finally did it!! They should have won gold during the team competition but we won't get into that. This kid makes the balance beam seem easy, I don't know how they do it. I get sweaty feet just watching them!! Don't get me wrong I think Nastia Liukin is great too, but I have been cheering for Shawn since day 1!!! To see her parents hug and cry after she won a gold medal made me tear up. I know...I'm a silly girl but I'm a silly girl who loves her gymnastics!!!!!!! GO USA!!!!!!!!!!!

Colby's First Dip in the Pool

This is Colby's first time in the pool and he loved it. He just sat back and relaxed.
He even liked playing with the noodle.
Lounging around in the dolphin.
Jumping up and down with Uncle Keith trying to make waves.

When it Rains....Go Run in it

Do you ever get so caught up in life and you forget to cherish the little things? I know I do but this day Uncle Keith made memories with his nephew. I love the fact that he cherished this moment instead of making him come inside because it started raining. At first Connor wasn't sure about running in the rain but after a few times of riding on Uncle Keith's back through the pouring rain he started yelling "this is FUN".

We actually had this discussion in Small Group last Sunday. Living life to the fullest. If you catch your kid jumping on the bed, why not jump on the bed with them and pray it doesn't break. LOL So next time it rains...GO RUN IN IT!!!!!

I love this picture of them.

Connor was shaking off like a dog.
