Do car seats expire???
I'm throwing this question out there and I want you to answer it without doing any research. Just give your answer and why you answered yes or no. I have done research on this subject and I will post what I found after I see what everyone else has to say. I'm just curious to see what everyone thinks about this subject. Have a nice day!!!

I've looked this up before because with Ethan and Ella being 4 years apart, I wasn't sure about using Ethan's hand-me-down seat for Ella. From what I read, I decided to buy a new seat for Ella since Ethan's seat was already 5 years old and Ella will be using it for a couple of years. I figured we got our money's worth out of Ethan's seat and we would invest in another one for Ella just in case the other wasn't safe.
I agree with you. I'm just waiting to hear more opinions b/c I have found some interesting stuff online about this subject. Once you answer just google this subject and see what you get.
I think its 6 years according to all the boards and information I've read on it. They break down from heat just like tupperware, etc.
I say yes they do! It should be obvious...everything else expires...newer car? Probably better if in an accident right? Same with car seats...the more research they do , they find issues just like with everything else, so then they make a newer, safer version.
Yes car seats do expire. They should not be used after I think 5 years. It's been a while since I read up on it so I can't remember.
I would assume they would expire just because of new regulations that may come out. I've never really looked into it though.
we live in a disposable society - everything expires. if they didn't no one would need to buy a new one and then where would our economy be? Not to mention that safety regulations are ever changing.
